KYLEE Q is a writer-director and MFA alumni from Cal State LA. She was raised Seventh day Adventist in the California Central Valley and attended Pacific Union College in the Napa Valley. She was the first female to graduate from PUC's film program, and she graduated at the top of her department.
After her bachelor's, she lived internationally in Denmark for a year. She landed a radio position where she produced her own show while simultaneously volunteering at four different community theaters. Her feature script, S-21 was honored at the Prague International Film Festival for Best Horror Screenplay. She is both a two-time Hollywood Foreign Press Award and Truman Capote Literary Scholarship Recipient.
Q is drawn to stories that highlight female characters, questions biblical and scriptural principles, and conceives monsters. She loves to tell stories that revolutionize gender disparity and provide subtext to a larger discussion around bigger social issues. She is fascinated with man’s obsession with religion and exploiting the social construct behind it. Also, her favorite movie genre is “Creature Feature.”
She balances her life's creative ambitions as a mother of two perfect kids, and a dog. She also loves cooking, snowboarding, and the San Francisco 49ers.
